They listened to the Christmas story in their own language, via a Proclaimer recording. Proclaimers are solar-powered devices with a recording of a language-group's Bible (or New Testament).
Then they acted it all out. Alison dressed the shepherds (why do all shepherds wear tea-towels on their heads?).
The angels wore tin-foil.
Then it was on with the show! The angel Gabriel woke Joseph to tell him Mary was expecting a child.
The family rode to Bethlehem on a donkey (who was excellent in the role).
Alas – the innkeeper tells them there is no room but the stable is available if they want it!
Not everyone in the audience was thrilled.
After the play, the cast took their bow.
Then it was time for food – it wouldn't be a Christmas party without popcorn!
Clarke blew some bubbles.
Some were thrilled, some were wary!
Then they went home and we scratched our heads thinking “It doesn't feel like Christmas”.
